*[[ Watched Cheerleader the thai movie on SCV ]]*

Watched "Cheerleader" which is a 2003 Thailand production on SCV. This is another hilarious movie about Thai ladyboys since the "Iron ladies" movie. I find it better than "Iron ladies" in fact. The movie concept is pretty similiar though. Both movies talks about Thai ladyboys who try to gain acceptance from society through doing something that they love. It is also on team work and the value of friendship, pretty heartwarming movie.

"Cheerleader" is like constituting both "Bring it on" and "Iron ladies". It is about 5 Chiangmai students who travels to St Mary's college whereby the college requires them to take up a sport. They are being rejected by the cheerleading team and so they join the rugby team instead. The rugby team is suppose to be close down on the context that they win the next match. With the help of the queers, they won the match. Then setup their own cheerleader team called The Queens to compete in the National Cheerleading Championship. I think it is also based on a true story as the ending part features the actual Thai ladyboys.

Being a ladyboy isn't easy. Especially for their parents. I believe that this might be due to influence if not it will be something within them. I wonder whether by seeing a shrink will helps. It will be good if it does, but if it doesn't I guess it will have to be a fact then.

They cannot choose how they were born, but they can choose how they want to be.

I know of one queer during my secondary days. It was not easy as he was always the joke of the crowd by the guys. You know, guys in their school boys days are not very kind. He will get all sort of stares and guys will tend to avoid him.

I had nothing against queers. They are of no difference to us. Just that it is pretty disturbing to see that most of them falls into the sex industry for others to be jeer at.

Probably this is the fault of the society. Most companies might have just toss them out after knowing of their real identify. Thus most of the queers are not able to get a decent jobs out there even they have the capability.

That's all, folks! ^_^
