*[[ I love New York! ]]*

Was in New York city for a tour today.

Simply beautiful and magnificent.

The first thing that caught my attention when I dropped off the bus was a horse-drawn cab. I can never ever imagine a horse galloping on our roads. (except for it munching on grass in the zoo) Dogs are almost everywhere in New York. Not just dogs, it's BIG dogs! Breeds that I can't fathom. I can identify one though when there was a guy coming out of a store with his dogs ... that's 2 boxers he got that!!! I only seen boxers in websites before. Gosh!

I was amused by one of the road signs that reads "RIGHT LANE MUST TURN RIGHT" Then I knew from Rosie that's because some of the states can turn right on red while some can't.

Ya, it's kind of overwhelming and intimidating for me to be thrown in a big city like this.

While inside the bus, it past by Wall Street, ground zero (911) and a lot of building places. Stopped at the Statue of Liberty, Ellis island and United Nation. A pity the Empire State building was cancelled at the last minute. Kind of disappointed though.

At the ferry where we debarked for the Statue of Liberty.

The statue of liberty is so green! She was a gift from France to the US in honor of the centennial of American independence and was inaugurated in 1886. She is made of copper but the chemical change over all these years has turned her into this green that we seen today. And the torch that she is holding means illuminating the struggle for Freedom.

There is one mini replica of her in Paris that is located at the Eiffel Tower, a gift from the Americans to the France. I know that there is one more, but unsure of the location.

Near the Statue of Liberty in New York Harbor is Ellis Island. The Ellis island serves as a temporary shelter for immigrants before they could enter into US. Kinda of depressing seeing the pictures of people struggling for freedom, hoping to end their days of misery , dying to enter US which seems to be the window of their opportunity. There is even a phone where you can picked up and hear the interview that was recorded before with the immigrants. Aren't we all glad that we don't have to go through all this?

Rosie was so nice to give us a ride to New York. (Transporation is not easily accessible here in Lebanon, NJ) In appreciation to that, we treated her for a dinner at a Japanese restuarant in Time Squares. Time Squares is a great place to walk too! It's people people people everywhere. And it was freaking cold! I had never felt so cold in my life before. A pity it's kind of late for Chinatown, plus all of us were real tired with the 9 to 6 tour.
